Description
Elderberry infusion
Elderberry is one of the best-known and most valuable Latvian forest plants, which many have known since childhood. Its fragrant, cream-white flowers bloom in June, filling the forest with a sweet and gentle aroma, while the dark, juicy berries ripen in August and September – exactly at the time when Latvia’s summer still gives its last warmth and sun rays.
The infusion is based on the happy apple Ferryman, to which elderberries harvested in the National Park of Gauja have been added. For sweetness and the fullness of the infusion, a little sugar has also been added. Over 6 months, the berries give the drink the sun rays accumulated during the summer, their pronounced dark violet color, the rich forest berry aroma and the mild, slightly tart taste. Alcohol content in the drink is 40%.
