Semi sweet chokeberry wine
Chokeberry is a common berry in Latvia. They are grown in backyard gardens, as hedges along private houses, and in large fields. It is hard to eat fresh berries a lot because of their astringent taste, however, they are very popular for processing. The most popular non-alcoholic processing is the preparation of syrup, but we are more interested in reflecting Latvian berries in a wine bouquet. The chokeberry fields of Līgatne have been known since the days of collective farms, where the winemaker himself worked in the autumn during the school years.
Chokeberries are harvested in the Gauja National Park. Chokeberry wine is made from 100% chokeberry juice, fermented and naturally settled for about 12 months. Great addition to pork or beef dishes, as well as hard cheese. An excellent berry for red wine lovers who like astringent, rich taste. Recommend to use chilled +14˚C. Contains sulphites.
