Description
Semi sweet lilac wine
Wine (fermented drink) can be made from berries, fruits, plants and even flowers. Probably every inhabitant of Latvia in May and June has been enchanted by the sweet smell of lilac, which tempts you to look for the happy flowers or “happiness”. A bloom with at least 5 petals or more is called a “happiness”. Some people have even managed to find “super happiness” with 10 – 20 petals. Please note that only regular lilacs, which have 4 petals as standard, are used to search for “happiness”.
Blossoms are harvested in the Gauja National Park. Wine fermented and naturally settled for about 12 months. Lilac wine goes well with fish dishes, soft cheeses and fruit. Recommend to use chilled +14˚C. Contains sulphites.
We also offer dandelion wine.
