Sweet honey wine
Honey wine is a real symbol of cooperation. When the ground warms up in the spring and the first rays of the sun begin to heat the roof of the beehive, the hard-working bees begin to wake up after a sweet hibernation. In March and April, bees fly out of the hives to look for food in pussy willows, snowdrops, kidneyworts, coltsfoots, crocuses and other spring flowers. The real work season already starts in May, when it seems like everything is blossoming in nature. Then the new honey appears in the hives. Throughout the summer, bees diligently fly around various wild and garden flowers. There is so much honey that it is enough for both the bee colony and man. Active hive work lasts until October, when the cold winds freeze the wings and it’s time to go to rest. In winter, bees feast on honey stored in summer.
The winemaker of Līgatne winery is passionate about beekeeping. Thus, after several years of experimenting with different recipes, honey wine has emerged as a symbol of cooperation between bees, beekeepers and winemakers. A good wine for team building and strengthening events, showing what can be done together. Now honey lovers and wine lovers have the opportunity to taste this unusual masterpiece and feel like in a sweet dream on a warm summer day, sleeping on a green grass, observing the shapes of clouds and listening to the bees in blooming meadow flowers around you.
Honey is harvested in the Gauja National Park. Honey wine fermented and naturally settled for about 12 months. This wine tastes wonderful with desserts and fruit. Recommend to use chilled +14˚C. Contains sulphites.
