Description
Gypsyapple cider 0.33l
Latvia is the land of apples, where almost every home has several apple trees growing nearby. In May and June, gardens are filled with the fragrance of apple blossoms, attracting bees to pollinate the flowers so that soon the first fruits begin to set. The richness of varieties allows us to enjoy apples from late summer all the way through winter, and with proper storage, even until spring.
Gypsyapple cider is special for its historical charm – it is made from the apples long known in Latvia as “čigānāboli” (gypsy apples), an old and rare apple variety distinguished by its intensely red skin and juice. It is precisely this variety that gives the cider its characteristic bright pinkish-red hue and an inimitable, deep flavour with pronounced fruit richness and a light wild character.
The apples are hand-harvested in late autumn in the territory of Gauja National Park. The juice is pressed from them and then carefully fermented and aged for approximately 6 months.
Recommended to enjoy well chilled at +6–8 °C. Natural sediment may be present. Contains sulphites.
