Granny’s sweet wine
Berries are picked in granny’s garden, forest and swamp, fermented all summer long.
Granny’s story
Summer is here, it’s the right berry time. Berries are getting ready also in granny’s garden, starting with blackcurrants, red currants and gooseberries. Between different country works, in early morning I find some time to walk to the local swamp and collect a basket with cloudberries. Blueberries grow right here between mosses and bog llamas – a good thing! Strength is still enough to pick some berries from the bush. On the way to home on the edge of swamp lingonberries are already turning red – they will be useful. Summer has already passed. Grandchildren need to get back to school. I have to pick some plums. Apple trees are starting to drop the apples. I have to walk the path to the swamp so it does not overgrow. I see some cranberries. Let’s pick them for health and quickly get back home! Children with grandchildren promised to visit today – I will bake a pie for them.
Sweet wine is made from 10 different berries: red currants, raspberries, gooseberries, lingonberries, blueberries, rhubarbs, strawberries, apples and chokeberries. It fits with desserts and cheese. Recommend to use chilled +14˚C. Contains sulphites.
